If you plan on going on a long distance trip on your motorcycle, you will probably be interested in listening to music or the radio while you travel. For this, you will want to invest in motorcycle helmet speakers, which can be built into your helmet for ease of listening and comfort. They are built with a thought to the safety of the rider, often allowing access to radio and intercom communication even while listening to music. There are a variety of headphone styles, but let’s take a look at some of the basics of shopping for speakers.

A motorcycle helmet audio device of any sort is a great asset for a motorcycle ride, especially a long distance trip. The type of helmet which the rider wears will make a great difference in whether the headphones will fit comfortably in his ears or not. The device itself, as well as its location in the helmet, has the greatest effect on the volume of the headphone speakers.

Good headphone speakers are smart and thin headphones built into the motorcycle helmet. They have a reasonably high volume, and are designed to fit comfortably inside your helmet. They can plug into radio, mp3, or CD players because they have a basic 1/8-inch output jack. If they are made well, they will fit cozily inside the helmet and your ears, so that they will neither fall out nor pinch your ears.

Even if it is a little more expensive, you will want to purchase a quality set of helmet speakers for your own comfort, enjoyment and safety as you ride. Certain devices have integrated speaker and microphone hardware that will allow you to access the radio, telephone and intercom systems when you are riding with a partner. Another great asset is an audio GPS navigation system, which is most easily used with helmet speakers. These are just a few of the great possibilities available in headphones for motorcycle helmets.

When you begin to look at motorcycle helmets, you may be discouraged by the high cost of the top of the line helmets. Don’t let this discourage you from buying a helmet at all – you need it for your safety! Look into cheap or discounted motorcycle helmets – old styles, brands, or even used helmets. However, as you shop around, you will want to be sure that you still find a helmet that will fit your head properly. This will take some dedication and hard work, but the savings will be a great reward in the end.

Buying a cheap motorcycle helmet can be very difficult – even more difficult than choosing the motorcycle itself. If you do not look closely into the helmet which you are purchasing, you may end up buying a helmet which does not fit properly. This will result in a less enjoyable riding experience. Cheap helmets do not follow the usual D.O.T. or Snell manufacturing standards, which can make them more dangerous for the rider who wears them on a regular basis.

The safety of the helmet is the most important feature in the helmet. An approved helmet will bear the marking BS 6658 1985 or UN/ECE 22.05. Checking for the safety standards of the helmet will assure your safety and those of your passengers if you ever have an accident or slip off of your motorcycle. No matter what the price, safety is the most important priority.

There is actually a difference between cheap and discounted motorcycle helmets. Cheap helmets are purposefully manufactured below standard qualifications. Discounted helmets, on the other hand, are simply reduced in price from their original price. These can be great quality helmets which are just on sale for some reason. These are probably the best type of helmets to look for if money becomes a problem when you buy a motorcycle and a new helmet.

You are sure to have to ride your motorcycle on some rainy day, and you will want to be prepared, not only because it is unpleasant to arrive at your destination soaking wet, but also so that you will be safe on the road in a storm. Having proper rain gear for your motorcycling is key to staying safe. There are a number of different accessories and types of rain gear which you will want to shop for. Make sure that you get good quality gear, even if it is a little more expensive – it will be worth it in the long run.

The proper gear will have the best chance of keeping you safe in a downpour. It will come in conspicuous colors, it will be comfortable, and it will be easy to put on. Waterproof boots and gloves are the first things to buy – they will keep your feet and hands dry and give them traction in the rain. Gauntlets on your cuffs will keep the gloves dry for a long time. A full face motorcycle helmet will keep the sharp rain drops off of your face and head. Anti-fog motorcycle goggles are another option to keep the rain out of your eyes.

Quality motorcycle rain gear will be made from fabrics made of advanced waterproof technology. 600 Denier nylon is a modern textile that is great for rain gear, and keeps you from catching a cold in the rain. Many of the good rain jackets and suits will have pockets with fully enclosed flaps and Velcro to keep them tightly shut. There should also be an inner pocket for a wallet or cell phone to remain perfectly dry and on your person.

You should probably also purchase a waterproof backpack that can hold your rain gear. It should be comfortable enough to carry around all the time, in case of a surprise rain storm. It should also have reflective surfaces to make you visible to other drives in the rain. These are some of the basic things you will want to think about when purchasing rain gear.

When you are getting ready to go on a motorcycle trip, you might want to go along with other motorcycle enthusiasts. The best way to keep up with them and talk together while on the road is over a motorcycle intercom system. There are a few different types of systems, and you will want to look into the best kind for your group, and a good kind that you will be able to use with others as you bike. This article should give you a quick overview of some of the most popular intercom systems.

The intercom system is not vital to a good trip with other riders, but it is incredibly useful. You can use if either for group travel, or for instructing beginners. It is easily installed on or into your motorcycle helmet, and is very lightweight.

There are many full-face helmets that come with an intercom system already installed, even down to the earphones, microphones, and handle bar switch. They are simple and safe to use, and quite convenient. The handlebar switch allows you to talk to others easily and quickly. They function much like a walky-talky, with 8 clear channels on UHF frequency that reach over 2 miles.

Looking at the various styles, the first is the acoustic intercom style, which uses no electronics or amplification. This style is only for rider-to-passenger communication. A wired motorcycle intercom system has wires into a central control boxes. This systerm has no external interference, and enables a handheld Citizens Band radio with voice activition to be plugged in. Finally, a wireless system can by any of the four types of radio technology: frequency modulation (FM), family radio service (FRS), general mobile radio service (GMRS), and Bluetooth, which will only range from 800 to 1600 feet, while the others travel for miles. Think about how you want to use your intercom system to help you decide which intercom to purchase.

It is not as easy these days to find a motorcycle helmet for a woman who wants to ride her motorcycle as to find a man’s helmet. However, if you are really concerned for your safety as a woman biker, you will want to take some extra time to look into a properly safe helmet for your riding. There are some noticeable difference between helmets for men and women, and they include variations for safety. This article will give a few tips on choosing a woman’s motorcycle helmet.

Motorcycle helmets for women are, while different, still similar to those of men, at least in terms of safety and classification. Their main purpose is to protect the face, just as a man’s motorcycle helmet. The standards are also regulated by D.O.T. or Snell standards just as men’s helmets are regulated and tested.

However, there are noticeable distinguishing features between men’s and women’s helmets. Women’s helmets tend to offer a greater fashion statement than men’s helmets, which often have more simple styles. Colors and styles vary depending on gender – bright pink and polished purple are the favorite colors for women’s headgear, and only for women’s helmets. They come in smaller sizes and in distinctly feminine shapes. However, the size classifications between the two kinds of helmets are actually the same.

It is hard to find a good woman’s helmet, or even any sort of woman’s helmet. They only exist for sale in certain outlets and online. Traditional helmet outlets will probably not carry a woman’s helmet. Even those stores which do keep up with women’s helmets often have a very limited line of helmets for those women which do come in to find a helmet. Take a look around at various stores and make a thorough search online if you are interested in buying a woman’s helmet, and you will be sure to find something, with a little work, that you will really like.

Maybe you have already customized your helmet to show off your personality and passion for biking. Did you know that you can add certain kinds of accessories to the airbrushing and paint to make an even more creatively customized helmet? These accessories can not only be stylish, but also useful and even add protection. Choosing great accessories for your helmet can be an enjoyable project when you get your new helmet, and will definitely add to your custom helmet.

Getting a little more flare on your helmet is as simple as adding a few accessories. The early motorcycle helmet was a boring, basic helmet – accessories have come a long way from that first helmet. The accessories are great extra features which will help make the helmet pleasurable to look at, comfortable to wear, and, most importantly, safe.

Looking for accessories might seem like a lot of work, but it does not have to be a chore. There are a number of different items out there, and they come in a variety of styles. In the items made for safety, there are such things as quick release buckles and helmet shields. There is also a helmet lock that can secure your helmet to your handlebars or engine guards. In style accessories, there are Mohawks and spike strips which will adhere directly to your helmet and stay there firmly as you speed down the road.

There is a good number of special motorcycle helmet accessories to add protection to your helmet. Such accessories include the visor and the face shield – these block the sun, wind, and road detritus which may be kicked up by a car in front of you. This keeps your face and eyes safe as you are riding your motorcycle, while still giving you good visibility. These are only a few of the options which you can find to accessorize your helmet.

You aren’t one for the standard, basic helmet – you want your helmet to show your personality and passion for motorcycling. Take a look at having a helmet customized for you. This is not just for safety and a better fit to your head, but can add interesting designs and styles that you will not be able to find in any store that you go to. The appearance, even if it comes at a higher price, can be worth it to a hardcore rider for what it says about him as he rides down the freeway on his bike.

The top two reasons to get a custom motorcycle helmet are the appearance and the styling. These helmets are only for cyclist with an extraordinary passion for the activity, who needs to have a unique type of helmet, at least in terms of design and shape. The two most common methods of customization are airbrushing and painting. Usually solid color helmets – either in black or white – are used as the basic beginning for a helmet customized to the user’s specifications. No matter how amazing the artistry may be on the helmet, a helmet which is not safe is a useless helmet.

Helmets are usually customized for appearances’ sake, and based on the design preferences of the buyer. These helmets are truly one of a kind, and often match the rider’s motorcycle and other gear. The cyclist is often trying to project his own image as a certain kind of biker by his customized gear.

It is fairly cheap to customize one’s gear, and you can even transfer the gear if you change your bike. There is no limit to the helmets which can be customized how you want them. Open face, full face, and specific sport helmets can each be customized to the desires of the biker. This customization will result in a great example of the biker’s personality.
